How to Switch from GoTeamUp to Ravini (2026 Migration Guide)
How to Switch from GoTeamUp to Ravini (2026 Migration Guide)
The thing that stops most gym owners leaving GoTeamUp isn't the software. It's the fear of the move. You've got 200 members on direct debit, a year of class history, and a booking schedule people actually rely on. Break any of that and you spend a fortnight fielding angry WhatsApps.
So let's deal with the fear first, then the steps.
We migrate your gym for you. You don't export a single CSV by hand, and your members don't re-enter their card or bank details. Most gyms are fully moved within a week, with no gap in billing and no day where bookings stop working.
Here's exactly how it works.
Why gyms move off GoTeamUp
GoTeamUp is good software. If all you want is clean class booking and direct debit for a small studio, it does that job and it does it without a contract. Plenty of gyms are happy on it.
The owners who leave tend to leave for three reasons.
The price climbs as you grow. GoTeamUp's pricing scales with your active member count. Signing up at one tier and then paying more every time you cross a member threshold means the tool gets more expensive precisely when you're winning. A branded member app is a separate add-on on top of that.
The software manages members but doesn't grow the gym. GoTeamUp handles the people who already joined. It does less for the leads who haven't. There's basic lead management, but no visual marketing automation, no AI lead scoring, and no Facebook lead-ad sync pulling enquiries straight into a follow-up sequence. If you're running ads, that gap is where money leaks.
They want one tool, not five. A booking system here, a separate email tool there, a spreadsheet for leads, a different app for messaging. Ravini was built to replace that stack with one login.
If none of those bite for you, stay where you are. If one or more does, keep reading.
What actually transfers
This is the part owners worry about. Here's what comes across when we migrate you:
| Your GoTeamUp data | Moves to Ravini? |
|---|---|
| Member profiles and contact details | Yes |
| Active memberships and pricing | Yes, including grandfathered rates |
| Direct debit mandates (GoCardless) | Yes, without members re-authorising |
| Class and appointment schedule | Yes |
| Booking and attendance history | Yes |
| Outstanding payments | Yes |
| Waivers and member documents | Yes |
The direct debit point is the one that matters most, so it gets its own paragraph. If you collect via GoCardless, we move the existing mandates across to your Ravini account. Your members keep paying on the same schedule, from the same bank account, and they never get an email asking them to set up a new payment. That single thing is what kills most migrations elsewhere, because asking 200 people to re-enter their bank details means you lose some of them. We don't make you do that.
The migration, step by step
Step 1: We pull your data. You give us access or an export, and we handle the rest. You carry on running classes as normal on GoTeamUp while we work.
Step 2: We rebuild your setup in Ravini. Membership plans, pricing, your class timetable, your staff and their permissions. We match what you have so it feels familiar to your team on day one.
Step 3: We move the direct debits. GoCardless mandates transfer to your Ravini account. We check the next billing dates line up so nobody gets double-charged and nobody gets missed.
Step 4: You check it. Before anything goes live, you log in and confirm your members, plans, and schedule look right. This is the point to catch anything, not after.
Step 5: Cutover. Your members get their Ravini app, you stop taking new bookings on GoTeamUp, and Ravini becomes the live system. We pick a quiet day for this, usually mid-week, so the first busy Saturday is already running on Ravini.
Step 6: You cancel GoTeamUp. Only once you're happy. There's no contract holding you, so you cancel when you're ready, not before.
How long it takes and what it costs
Most single-site gyms are fully migrated within five to seven working days. Larger multi-site operations take a little longer because there's more to check.
The migration is free. We do it as part of onboarding because a migration that goes wrong costs you members, and a gym that loses members in week one doesn't stay a customer. Getting it right is in our interest as much as yours.
Ravini itself is a flat monthly price with no per-member fees, no setup fee, and no contract. The branded member app is included, not an add-on. It's £50 a month for the first 50 gyms, then £99 a month, the same price however many members you have.
A fair word on staying
If you're a solo PT or a small studio under 100 members, you're running no ads, and you have no plans to, GoTeamUp's simplicity is a real virtue and the price difference may not be worth the move. Switching software is work even when someone else does the heavy lifting. Don't do it for the sake of it.
The move makes sense when you're growing, when your GoTeamUp bill keeps creeping up, or when you want the software to chase leads and not just bill the members you already have.
Frequently asked questions
Will my members lose access during the switch? No. Bookings keep working on GoTeamUp right up to cutover, and Ravini goes live the same day you switch off the old system. There's no dead window.
Do members have to set up their direct debit again? No. GoCardless mandates move across. Your members keep paying on the same schedule without lifting a finger.
What if I'm mid-way through my GoTeamUp month? GoTeamUp is month-to-month with no contract, so you cancel when your migration is done and confirmed. You're never paying two systems for long.
Can I keep my class history and reporting? Yes. Attendance and booking history come across, so your reports don't start from zero.
Who actually does the migration? We do. You're not handed a help doc and left to export spreadsheets. A real person moves your gym and checks it with you before it goes live.
