You'll never miss an inbound message again
SMS, WhatsApp, email, Messenger, Instagram and Telegram now all reliably trigger the bell, the Conversations badge and the in-app sound. The dropped-notification bug from February is closed.
A handful of you flagged that the bell wasn't lighting up for inbound messages on certain channels. WhatsApp was reliable. SMS was reliable. Messenger and Instagram were sometimes silent. Telegram was sometimes silent. Email was sometimes silent.
We traced the problem to three different webhook handlers each writing notifications in slightly different shapes, and the bell-renderer ignoring two of those shapes.
What's fixed:
- All six inbound channels (SMS, WhatsApp, email, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram) now write notifications in the same shape.
- The bell, the Conversations badge and the in-app sound all listen to the unified channel.
- The notification tag now de-duplicates triple-pushes from the same inbound message (which was a separate bug we found while in there).
If you've felt like inbound messages were occasionally going missing, this is the cause. They weren't going missing. The notification just wasn't firing. It is now.
